Stupid things Personal Trainer's say

I have no doubt this will be a regular post. Because there is so much stupid in our industry I don't think it can be limited to one post!

Example 1

A well respected personal trainer who predominantly trains body building and bikini contestants said this om a recent podcast and I am paraphrasing - I do not believe that prepping for a comp is in anyway healthy. Getting a person to those levels of body fat is not healthy. Being healthy is the ability to fight of disease - and at those levels of body fat you are probably promoting issues.

Well - NO SHIT! So if you believe this, why on earth do you promote and continue to train people for these comps? If you are a personal trainer and you want to help people - how is this helping people? If it is not healthy for people stop promoting it - it's pretty simple.

Example 2

Straight from an Instagram post - get ready for this:

"No one will know....

That you took the extra bite that was unweighed or untracked

That you skipped that rep or set

That you missed your morning workout....

That you spooned some extra peanut butter

That you skipped your meditation and journaling

That you forgot to stretch

Blah blah blah blah. You get the picture. And I get the point she was trying to make. Made badly - but still. If you want the spoon of peanut butter - bloody well have it. If you want to sleep in once in while and not exercise - so be it - don't feel guilty. And if you haven't got time to stretch - then don't do it. And if you want to take the extra bite - just do it. STOP putting so much pressure on ourselves.

Remember - live life pretty simply - eat well most of the time, sleep as much as you can, go for a walk everyday and exercise 3-4 times a week. Keep things simple.

I am not attacking them personally. I am attacking them for the information they are putting out and over complicating what really is pretty simple. Stats suggest we are living in a time that is the
